Family Update

Well things are a bit crazy around here with our new baby and the 12 new baby goats that have been born in the span of a week and the new puppy that will arrive looks like on Sunday..

Update on Madison: We have seen the doctor now three times this week and she is still loosing weight. As of yesterday she had dropped down to 6 pounds 8.6 oz from her birth weight of 7 pounds. Which doctor said is not good. So we were to come home and breast feed her then feed her formula after that. We thought we were doing good until we saw the doctor today and she had only gained 4/10 of an ounce. So now we are pumping mommy, which I have a whole new respect for those milk cows that we milked on my granma's dairy all those years growing up. Kinda what I feel like. Along with the pumped milk we are to give her formula, we go back to doctor on Tuesday the 19th to have her weight checked again. So please keep your fingers crossed that she will gain her weight back. She is not a big eater she has taken so far today 4 ounces in two hours which for her is a huge amount. Daddy and little brother are liking the new feeding arrangements b/c they can help mommy feed Madison now. I will try to download some pictures for all to see as soon as I figure out how to get the program to work for this page. She has lost her belly button things so now she can have a big bath just not a sponge bath...

We are overloaded with new baby goats as well our total goat count is at 34 and we have 4 or so more goats to kid out. So far knock on wood we have not lost any and all the mamma's are doing great with them. They are keeping Paul busy day and night his dad and mom have been great help with moving them around and in the barn since I am kinda tied up with Madison. Thanks guys..

Andrew is doing GREAT with his baby sister he is very protective he makes sure that no one leaves this house holding her. And he has learned that if she cries he can "plug" her with her bink and that quiets her down for a little while..He gives her kisses and hugs non stop and even has helped us with bathes and getting her dressed for night time..He sings her songs and tries to entertain her when she gets fussy it is really cute to watch. Figure this will last until she is big enough to get in his business and then that will be out of the question, kinda thinking cats and dogs fighting here.. We are getting him and mommy and daddy a new puppy I think on Sunday. We are getting another Rottwieler, not sure how this will go over new baby, new puppy and new baby goats, hmmmmm but we think it will be good for Andrew to have something that is his to take care of. We will be going to a picnic on Saturday the whole crew that Andrew's school is putting on, his little girlfriend is dancing in a recital that day as well. We are kinda excited. He and his daddy were measured for a tux last night at Goody's for Andrew's other girlfriend, daddy's cousin, Brooke's wedding that is on the 28th of this month...not sure that Andrew will wear the tux but at least we have him measured for it..

Well just wanted to update everyone what is going on around our place in just a little over a week...busy busy busy...

Come on by or give us a holler...
